FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RE: TERRI SCHIAVO DIES

The League of the South, the premier Southern nationalist organization, offers its condolences to the parents of Terri Schiavo in the hour of her death.

League President, Dr. Michael Hill noted that “this Judge Greer, hiding behind the so-called ‘right to die’ argument, has committed murder by judicial fiat. I, for one, no longer wish to be part of a nation that treats the life of a helpless young woman with such vile indifference. I hope now that the multitude of ‘God bless America’ signs will come down in favor of the more appropriate plea—‘God help America.’ Terri Schaivo’s blood is on the hands of this regime. I pray that the people will finally see the true nature of the class of men that rules them.”

To memorialize the death of Terri Schiavo and to acknowledge the perfidy of the regime that killed her, the League asks everyone join them in a day of prayer and fasting on Friday, 15 April.

For further comments, the League can be reached by phone at (800) 888-3163 or by e-mail at jmichhill@cs.com.

STATEMENT FROM THE LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH

BOARD OF DIRECTORS ABOUT THE TURMOIL

IN THE SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS

2 March 2005

Killen, Alabama

On behalf of our membership, the League of the South (LoS) Board of Directors announces its unequivocal support for the legitimate, duly elected leadership of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, SCV Commander-in-Chief Denne Sweeney and his staff.  We denounce as illegitimate the unconscionable seizure of power by Anthony Hodges and his pretended officers.

For at least two years someone has circulated outrageous slanders and scurrilous falsehoods that the League of the South was secretly plotting to take over the SCV.  Now, at last, the League of the South stands publicly proven innocent of such rumours.  Now, at last, events have made plain both those who invented such lies, and those who were actually plotting to seize power in the SCV.  “By their fruit ye shall know them.”

The League of the South has never, and will never, officially or unofficially countenance or devise any scheme to take over the SCV.  We have always encouraged our qualified members to join and support the SCV, but only because it is a worthy Southern organisation, and for no other reason.

We have always respected the independence of the SCV because the LoS and the SCV have different tactics and goals.  The SCV cannot operate politically; the League can.  The SCV is charged with defending the good name of our Confederate ancestors and their cause.  To fulfil this charge the SCV looks to the past and guards against anti-Southern historical revisionism.  The League concerns itself with the South of the present and the future.  As a Southern Nationalist organisation we are advancing the same cause -- an independent Southern republic -- that motivated our ancestors.  We believe that if that cause was right in 1861, then it is right today.  Events daily support our view.  Our culture descends deeper and deeper into degradation while an all-powerful state steals our ancient liberties and makes us strangers in our own land.  We believe ever more strongly that all patriot Southerners must resurrect the same cause of liberty that moved our ancestors to give their blood, treasure, and sacred honour to defend the South.

Both the League and the SCV are zealous to preserve our sublime cultural Southern inheritance and defend our symbols, particularly our flag.  The Southern flag reaches from our past to our future, marking us as a separate and distinct people dwelling in a specific place on this earth.  Since the South faces so many enemies eager to destroy her inheritance, we denounce as tragic, senseless, and despicable any person driving a wedge between two organisations honourably seeking the good of the South.

Regrettably, the Hodges conspirators appear to place little value in defending the South, either alone or in co-operation with the League or other pro-South groups.  Oddly, the Hodges cabal seems more interested in truckling to the Southern Poverty Law Center than in working with their natural allies in the League.

As the struggle for authentic, legitimate leadership within the SCV moves through the courts, the League of the South encourages compatriots Sweeny and others to remain steadfastly devoted to the true objectives of the SCV and to the charge laid upon it by General Stephen Dill Lee.  Humbly and without ambition, as faithful brothers, the League of the South stands ready to assist you in whatever way necessary to ensure that the South’s eternal cause is not abandoned to grasping and ambitious men pursuing only their own power and glory.

God save the South!

Michael Hill,

On behalf of the League of the South Board of Directors

South Carolina League of the South, Red Shirts

7, 8 and 9 October 2004

The South Carolina League of the South, Red Shirts are here today to protest the racist NAACP for their deliberate attacks on all things Southern.  They continue to spew hatred and division among South Carolinians and practice bigotry with a passion.  They engage in extortion of businesses and continue an illegal secondary boycott of the entire state of South Carolina.

They are a despicable group of malcontents that contribute nothing to society while crying, “pity me” as they tear down everything around them.  They frighten weak-kneed politicians, such as scalawag Mayor Bob Young into doing their dirty work while they sit back and gloat.

They do not deserve and will not get sympathy for their racial bigotry from the South Carolina League of the South, Red Shirts.
